Cobb Poultry Selection Worker
Location:
Three Springs Farm, 17804 E 606 Rd, Rose, OK 74364
Schedule:
Monday through Thursday, including holidays.
Hours:
5:00am to 3:00pm. Start and end times may vary. The work schedule is subject to change based on production needs.
Starting Pay: $17.00 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends.

- Assist with the selection of up to 2,500 pedigree birds daily by identifying gender, catching, scanning wing band number, and auditing market birds for wing bands.
- Monitor ventilation and lighting (≈35% of shift).
- Assist in properly assigning coop birds to correct pens (≈30% of shift).
- Maintain clean foot pans in the assigned boot room and sanitize selection breakroom and all equipment used during the selection process.
- Observe condition of farm structures and equipment and recommend needed maintenance and repairs.
- Assist with setting up for selection by loading empty coops, placing catch frames, hanging lights, setting up scales and scanners, making coop labels, and running needed cords.
- Ensure dead birds are disposed of properly at the end of selection (≈10% of shift).
- Assist with moving birds from brood house to feed conversion or dissection, and washing/disinfecting vehicles.
- Properly euthanize weak or ill birds in accordance with company policy (≈10% of shift).
- At least 6months of consecutive work history with one employer, with no job gaps over 6months in the past 36months (gaps may be increased to 18months for laid‑off or care‑giving circumstances).
- No more than 3 prior employment periods at Cobb/Tyson Foods.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50pounds regularly and occasionally up to 300pounds.
- Willingness and ability to adhere to biosecurity and animal welfare guidelines, including showering, changing clothing, and wearing provided apparel.
- Ability to work on wet, slippery, dusty, hot, cold, or extreme environments.
The jobsite is a biosecure environment. Employees must shower, change clothing and footwear before entering, wear appropriate clothing and footwear provided by the company, and refrain from wearing jewelry except for medical covered piercings. Employees must sign agreements to avoid avian species and abide by company biosecurity and animal welfare guidelines.
Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentRegularly required to stand the majority of the shift on various floor surfaces, walk, sit, use hands for controls, reach, balance, climb ladders, stoop and bend up to 1,000 times per day, and drive a vehicle within the farm complex. Required vision includes close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Must use safe lifting techniques and regularly lift and/move items up to 50pounds; occasionally move up to 300pounds.
- Work on wet, slippery surfaces and in hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments.
