Electromechanical Inspector - Level II

Overview

Ever wondered what clouds are made of? In this role, you will be hands-on with the building blocks of the cloud. This part-time, 6-month contract places you on a global inspection team ensuring the quality of components and assemblies sourced from suppliers. You will be deployed through SQA’s operations center based on client needs and each supplier’s production schedule.

• You will perform inspection activities, including visual, physical, and dimensional (in-process and final) inspection of machined, electro-mechanical, and other parts, according to client requirements and specifications.
• Conduct incoming inspections from external providers of products or services/processing (e.g., nickel plating).
• Perform in-process and final inspection of critical features such as witness inspection.
• Compile final inspection sign-off sheets and report packages.
• Verify that inspection equipment used to take measurements is capable of detecting defects.
• Verify that inspection methodology is adequate per drawing intent.
• Audit and validate the execution of the inspection plan.
• Provide weekly reports of manufacturing sites ramp progress, equipment quality performance of the facility, and delivery details by Data Center site.
• Conduct periodic quality audits of the supplier’s factory and provide reports of results.
• Drive closure of findings identified as non-conformance.
• Ensure the supplier’s quality control system documents the findings.
• Provide customer witness for test scripts, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for all equipment. Validate equipment is acceptable with no issues and in compliance with the Level 1 commissioning process (Red/Orange tags) before shipment to the Data Center.
• Be the on-site support representing the client.

• Steel frame welding experience.
• Physically able to kneel and/or climb a ladder if needed.
• Prior inspection with electromechanical components, especially switchgears or anything data center related is preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in the industry or equivalent.
• Be able to read and interpret standard manufacturing drawings based on industry and commodity standards.

Compensation: $32 - $38 per hour
