Overview
Ever wondered what clouds are made of? In this role, you will be hands-on with the building blocks of the cloud. This part-time, 6-month contract places you on a global inspection team ensuring the quality of components and assemblies sourced from suppliers. You will be deployed through SQA’s operations center based on client needs and each supplier’s production schedule.
Responsibilities- You will perform inspection activities, including visual, physical, and dimensional (in-process and final) inspection of machined, electro-mechanical, and other parts, according to client requirements and specifications.
- Conduct incoming inspections from external providers of products or services/processing (e.g., nickel plating).
- Perform in-process and final inspection of critical features such as witness inspection.
- Compile final inspection sign-off sheets and report packages.
- Verify that inspection equipment used to take measurements is capable of detecting defects.
- Verify that inspection methodology is adequate per drawing intent.
- Audit and validate the execution of the inspection plan.
- Provide weekly reports of manufacturing sites ramp progress, equipment quality performance of the facility, and delivery details by Data Center site.
- Conduct periodic quality audits of the supplier’s factory and provide reports of results.
- Drive closure of findings identified as non-conformance.
- Ensure the supplier’s quality control system documents the findings.
- Provide customer witness for test scripts, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for all equipment. Validate equipment is acceptable with no issues and in compliance with the Level 1 commissioning process (Red/Orange tags) before shipment to the Data Center.
- Be the on-site support representing the client.
- Steel frame welding experience.
- Physically able to kneel and/or climb a ladder if needed.
- Prior inspection with electromechanical components, especially switchgears or anything data center related is preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in the industry or equivalent.
- Be able to read and interpret standard manufacturing drawings based on industry and commodity standards.
Compensation: $32 - $38 per hour
Compensation details: 32-38 Hourly Wage
