ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a consistentelevated levelof food quality and service.
  • Maintain cleanliness of allbackof the house area.
  • Food production, sanitation,storage,and handling procedures for all food products.
  • Technical skillsofportioncontrol and culinary service standards.
  • Supervises daily kitchen operations.
  • Proficiently creates production and transfer reports.
  • Conducts new hire and on-going training programs with staff.
  • Completes food ordering and inventory control.
  • Organizes andmaintainsfood storage areas daily, rotation andutilizationof all food products.
  • Communicates daily menu items to all line cooks.
  • Conducts daily inspections of walk-ins, prep areas, all refrigerationunits,andcheckstemperatures of those units.
  • Maintains consistency in food presentation,taste,and temperature.
  • Maintains a clean,neat,and sanitized work area.
  • Shows excellent customerrelationsabilities.
  • Ensures a safe working environment for all co-workers.
  • Ability to writeprep lists.
  • Ensures all kitchen equipment is clean and in good working condition before using it.
  • Promotes professional work habitsthat will developrespectand create return business from customers.
  • Seek opportunities to minimize expenses and increase employee productivity without sacrificing guest services.
  • Communicate with co-workers respectfully and followdirectionsfrom superiors.
  • Meet the attendance guidelines of the job andadhereto departmental and company policies.
  • Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner.
  • Outstanding example of and a credit to Downstream Casino Resort.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professionalmanneralways. Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
  • Attends all necessary training meetings.
  • Assistin other projects, as directed.

    Hours aredeterminedbya 24-hour schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/ orabilityrequired.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.

  • High School Diploma
  • Three years of restaurant industry work, including at least one in a manager role
  • Knowledge of food and labor cost
  • Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook a plus
  • Good arithmetic skills
  • Ability to remain calm in hecticcircumstances.
  • Somepreviousexperience in a kitchen environment
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must present a well-groomed and professional appearance.
  • Must be able to read, write,speak,and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual andoralcues.
  • Must be able to deal effectively and interact well with customers and employees.
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Must be able to be approved for andmaintaina valid gaming license.
  • Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome ofa background investigation and drug screening.

  • Must be ableto tolerateareascontainingsecondary smoke, high noise levels, brightlights,and dust.
  • Must be able to maneuver toall areasof the casino.
  • Operate inmentallyand physically stressful situations.
  • Able tooperatethe following equipment: cutting boards, mixers, pourers, knives, and other necessary equipment.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
  • Must have the physical ability to workinextreme weather as well as the ability to lift 50lbs., to squat, stand or bend repeatedly.
