Lunch Time Kitchen Assistant

Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated kitchen assistant to join Mamaw’s Cafe & Catering to help provide an exceptional dining experience.

• Finalize food with garnishments and accessories before service (e.g., dinner rolls, butter, steak knives).
• Sack up to-go orders; assist with running food and maintaining a clean, attractive dining environment.
• Clear tables, remove used dishes, and set tables for the next guests; attend to guest needs promptly and courteously.
• Communicate with servers and assist as needed; quickly refill drinks and clear utensils.
• Set and maintain condiments and supplies on tables; clean and sanitize tables, chairs, booths, and surrounding areas between guests.
• Locate items requested by guests; scrape, stack, and carry dishes to the kitchen for cleaning.
• Unload, sort, and stack silverware, dishes, and glassware for cleaning; perform serving, cleaning, or stocking duties to facilitate service.
• Carry food, dishes, trays, or silverware from kitchens to serving counters; clean up spills and remove trash.
• Serve food to guests when servers need assistance; thank guests and assist with door etiquette.
• Maintain adequate supplies (silverware, glassware, dishes, trays); clean and polish counters, shelves, and floors; restock beverage dispensers and condiments.
• Coordinate with servers/hosts to expedite seating and customer service; respond to guest requests and relay to the server as needed.
• Attend all scheduled employee meetings and cooperate with the team to meet guest needs.
• Fill in for fellow employees to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
• Report to Front of House Manager.

• Previous knowledge of food service regulations preferred.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment; able to lift, carry, or move heavy objects; stand for extended periods; prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks.
