The Account Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing new business opportunities and expanding relationships within existing accounts throughout Oklahoma and Kansas. This role focuses on delivering valve, automation, instrumentation, and field service solutions to customers in the oil & gas, refining, power generation, utility, and industrial markets.
The ideal candidate has experience selling industrial products or services and understands the maintenance, reliability, and operational challenges faced by industrial facilities. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role that offers uncapped earning potential and the opportunity to build long-term partnerships with key decision-makers.
This is a highly customer-facing, field-based sales position. The Account Manager will spend the majority of their time visiting customer sites, developing relationships, identifying opportunities, and supporting customers throughout Oklahoma and Kansas. Candidates should expect to be on the road meeting with customers daily, with overnight travel required approximately 50% of the time.
Reporting to the Vice President of Sales , the Account Manager will work closely with operations, service, and technical teams to provide solutions that improve customer reliability, safety, and operational performance.
Responsibilities- Develop and grow revenue within an assigned territory and customer base.
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities across Oklahoma and Kansas.
- Build strong relationships with plant managers, maintenance managers, reliability engineers, operations personnel, and purchasing teams.
- Promote valve repair services, control valves, automated valves, actuators, instrumentation, and related field services.
- Conduct regular customer visits, plant walkthroughs, and technical sales presentations.
- Identify customer needs and recommend solutions that improve reliability, safety, and efficiency.
- Develop account plans to expand market share within existing customers.
- Prepare and follow up on quotations, proposals, and service opportunities.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurate CRM records.
- Collaborate with internal operations and service teams to ensure exceptional customer support.
- Achieve or exceed annual sales and profitability objectives.
- 2+ years of outside sales, account management, business development, or technical sales experience.
- Experience selling to industrial customers in oil & gas, refining, power generation, utility, manufacturing, or related markets.
- Strong relationship‑building and communication skills.
- Proven ability to develop new business and grow existing accounts.
- Self‑motivated with strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout the territory, including overnight travel approximately 50% of the time.
- Experience selling valve repair services, automated valves, actuators, instrumentation, process controls, rotating equipment, or industrial MRO services.
- Knowledge of refinery, pipeline, terminal, power plant, chemical processing, or industrial maintenance operations.
- Existing relationships within Oklahoma and Kansas industrial markets.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
