Position: Field Service Technician I
Location: Catoosa

Summary

Plan and coordinate activities concerned with installing equipment (Cooling Towers, Air Cooled Heat Exchangers, Plate Heat Exchangers), investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminating future operational or service difficulties by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise on‑site field visits to oversee equipment installation.
  • Investigate and resolve customer reports of technical problems with equipment and perform routine repairs.
  • Ensure all new or modified installations are completed to full functionality according to applicable industry standards, company standards, and customer specifications.
  • Review performance reports and customer documentation and inspect malfunctioning or damaged equipment to determine nature and scope of problem.
  • Analyze inspection reports to identify source of problem and recommend repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
  • Coordinate problem resolution with Service Coordinator, Field Service Manager, Plant Manager, or other inter‑company departments to expedite repairs.
  • Maintain records of reports and submit them to the Service Coordinator and/or Field Service Manager.
  • Provide recommendations to inter‑company departments on recurring equipment problems noted in the field to instigate corrective action in design, production, or service.
  • Assist Service Coordinator, Field Service Manager, and/or Plant Manager in providing day‑to‑day customer service for equipment inquiries.
  • Ensure regular attendance, punctual arrival, ability to work on‑site, and willingness to work overtime.
  • Work cooperatively with others and treat the public, customers, vendors, employees, managers, and executive management with respect.
  • Perform multiple tasks concurrently, work in a fast‑paced environment, and interchange duties with others in the department.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; or at least five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including email, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills: calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume; apply basic algebra and geometry.
  • Intermediate reasoning ability: apply common sense in written, oral, or diagram instructions; handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Obtain passport, major credit card for car rental, and pass simple safety orientation exams at customer locations; obtain industry required certifications such as TWIC to gain entry to customer locations.
  • Travel commitment: ability to travel 70% of the time.
Physical Demands

The physical demands include regular standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, talking or hearing, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, occasional lifting or moving up to 50 pounds, and specific vision requirements such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment

The work environment includes exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high and precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, vibration, potential exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock and radiation, and typically loud noise levels.
