Night Shift ($2.00) - B Shift Sunday-Wednesday 8:00pm to 8:00am
Position:
Forklift Operator
Pay: $18.35 per hour
SummaryThis position is responsible for ensuring all product and materials are loaded, unloaded, and processed through the warehouse in a timely and accurate manner using a motor-powered forklift. Team members will be fully retrained and certified on forklift during orientation.
Qualifications- 3 months of forklift operator experience (combination of employers if listed on application).
- Full range of motion of arms, wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck, all digits, and legs; must be able to stand for extended periods with balance.
- May use corrective lenses if needed.
- May be provided additional hearing protection; cold storage experience preferred.
- Must pass post-offer health assessment and drug screening.
- Proficiency in reading and writing.
- Ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and communicate across all management levels.
- All new hires start as case pickers; after probationary period they are cross-trained into other tasks.
- Work shift can be up to 12 hours; must move around the work area, bend, squat, lift, push, pull up to 40 pounds.
- Use handheld scanner to track products as they are loaded, unloaded, and moved.
- Other duties may be assigned as part of routine.
- Follow all Tyson policies and safety guidelines.
- Sub Duties (may be required to work any or all of these positions):
- Receiver – Receives product accurately into building using PIT.
- Put Away – Pulls product received and places into racking; may palletize or split pallets.
- Replenisher – Pulls pallets from racking to replenish pick faces.
- Picker – Case picker / order selector and full pallet picker.
- Loader – Loads trucks efficiently to avoid product damage or loss.
- Most of the time will be driving PIT including stand-up forklifts and reach trucks for extended periods in damp and cold environments with temperatures ranging from
-5 to 30°F (up to 12 hours). - Freezer suit, hearing protection, gloves, and headwear are provided as part of PPE.
- Boots must meet ANSI 75lb or higher PSI rating with slip-resistant sole covering ankles; composite toe preferred. Tyson will purchase a pair after 30 days or reimburse up to a specified amount.
- Stand-up Crown PIT Forklifts, Reach Trucks; may be trained on Cherry Picker for additional tasks.
- Standing or walking up to 100% of the time.
