Summary
Lead Carpenter is responsible for performing all duties associated with carpentry work including but not limited to coordinating craftsmen, materials, equipment, and subcontractors required for the jobsite. Lead Carpenter will also be responsible for successfully completing projects to specifications on schedule in a safe, quality manner, meeting and exceeding customer expectations. Constructs, erects, installs, repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter’s hand tools and power tools, and conforming to local building codes.

- Maintain project schedule through leading and working with crew to accomplish daily tasks assigned by Project Superintendent.
- Act as liaison between owner, project superintendent, project manager, subcontractors, etc.
- Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated.
- Prioritize adherence to quality management system (QMS) requirements.
- Prepare daily work logs and progress reports.
- Build and construct footings, walls, columns, and decks using a variety of hand tools and power tools and materials, including aluminum joists, adjustable joists, shoring, and lumber.
- Set and anchor bolts and metal studs for door and window frames and install metal frames for doors and windows.
- Build stairs, lay out and install partitions, and cabinet work.
- Construct forms and chutes for pouring concrete.
- Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as requested, including installation of safety cables and railing.
- This job is safety-sensitive for medical marijuana purposes.
- All other tasks as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Career experience must include at least 3 to 5 years as a fully qualified and competent carpenter, familiar with other construction trades and crafts.
- Completion of formal apprenticeship program, superintendent training program, or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or work experience.
- Workers should be able to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
- Apply shop mathematics to solve problems.
- Plan work and select proper tools.
- Compare and see differences in the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.
- Strong organizational skills and business unit growth skills.
- Ability to continuously sit, stand, or walk.
- Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift frequently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work in heat or cold, work outside, and work in high elevations.
- Climb and maintain balance on scaffolds and ladders.
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Sto’op, kneel, crouch, crawl, and see well (either naturally or with correction).
