Overview
As a Rotating Equipment Technician with Phillips 66, you will perform maintenance and repair on booster station and gas plant equipment, including motors, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical systems. You will conduct routine maintenance, report and eliminate leaks, and assist with construction projects while ensuring compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations. The position reports to the Rotating Equipment Supervisor and is based in Okarche, OK, supporting the Central/South Oklahoma G&P area.
Responsibilities- Serve as the primary rotating equipment support for gas plants, boosters, and offloads.
- Ensure safe, effective, and efficient maintenance and operation activities in line with company and regulatory standards.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and directives.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on various equipment.
- Initiate maintenance work requests and perform thorough diagnostics.
- Drive a company-owned vehicle within the assigned area.
- Train less experienced employees and oversee contract personnel; develop procedures and training materials.
- Diagnose problems and provide technical support for installations, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical and rotating equipment.
- Perform coupling alignments, pump tear-down/rebuild inspections, and new pump installations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with Operations, EAs, and Mechanical Technicians to ensure reliable equipment function.
- Assist supervisors with technology changes and budget requirements.
- Respond to emergencies, maintain preparedness, and participate in emergency training.
- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, calibrations, and replacements as needed.
- Document equipment monitoring and maintenance tasks.
- Conduct planned maintenance checks, calibrations, and submit reports promptly.
- Minimize downtime and unsafe conditions through preventive maintenance.
- Maintain mechanical and technical administrative records.
- Promote teamwork throughout the area of responsibility.
- Supervise and direct contract crews.
- Comply with DOT, OSHA, and safety policies.
- Complete required safety/regulatory training.
- Maintain all required Operations Qualifications on assigned tasks.
- Pursue cost-reduction opportunities.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to drive company vehicle up to 50% of the time.
- Residency within 1 hour of reporting location.
- Minimum 2 years of experience changing mechanical seals and general pump knowledge.
- Physical and environmental capability to climb ladders up to 50 feet, lift up to 50 pounds, work outside in harsh weather, work alone often, and be on call 24/7 as needed; ability to wear fire‑retardant clothing and PPE.
- Ability to maintain a clean face for respirator seal (e.g., be free of facial hair).
- 5+ years in oil and gas field operations or similar production environment.
- 5+ years maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting rotating equipment.
- Knowledge of pump characteristics and mechanical seals.
- Certification in Level 1 vibration analysis or willingness to obtain Level 1 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and SAP.
- Familiarity with OSHA, Process Safety Management, and DOT code requirements.
- Experience with electrical digital and analog circuitry, including drawings and schematics.
- Willingness to perform basic electrical motor and starter troubleshooting, transmitter, VFD, and actuator tasks.
Base salary range: $86,600 – $122,100. Benefits for eligible full‑time employees include:
