Substation Foreman – High Voltage (Contract) – Sher Contracting
Overview:
Sher Contracting is seeking an experienced Substation Foreman to lead field operations on a high-voltage substation upgrade project. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong experience in energized environments and utility infrastructure.

Location:
Weleetka, Oklahoma
Project Duration: 5–7 Months (Contract)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage daily substation construction activities
- Supervise installation of foundations, conduit systems, and high-voltage equipment (138kV–161kV)
- Oversee grounding systems, bus work, and station service installations
- Ensure work aligns with project specs, drawings, and safety standards
- Conduct daily safety meetings and maintain OSHA compliance
- Coordinate with project leadership and maintain field reports
Requirements:
- 5+ years of substation construction experience
- Experience working in high-voltage (138kV+) substations
- Proven ability to lead crews in energized environments
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
Preferred:
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Electrical License or NCCER certification
- Sher Contracting participates in E-Verify; drug/background screenings required.
Education & Credentials:
- Active Journeyman Electrician license
- Preferred: OSHA-30, NFPA 70E safety training.
Compensation:
- $45 - $50/hr
- $135 Per Diem
Salary: $45 - $50 per hour
