Position Summary
As a Journeyman Electrician stationed in Catoosa, OK, you will be responsible for commercial/industrial electrical work including installation, alterations, additions, and repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and related equipment. This safety-sensitive position requires compliance with local building codes, safety guidelines, and the state’s electrician licensing requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Analyze blueprints, schematics, and electrical system drawings to ensure safe and efficient installation.
- Plan the layout and installation of wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications, local building codes, and safety guidelines.
- Prepare the work area and ensure tools, materials, and equipment are available for completion of tasks.
- Work safely to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Connect wiring and equipment according to code and job specifications.
- Perform duties and operate equipment as permitted by license status and training.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components for compliance with codes and specifications, identifying hazards, defects, and necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose causes of electrical problems and correct equipment or repair systems as needed.
- Collaborate with foremen, coworkers, and other site workers to complete electrical work properly and efficiently.
- Monitor and ensure Apprentice Electricians complete work properly and meet job specifications and code requirements.
- Train and guide Apprentice Electricians in the installation, maintenance, or repair of electrical wiring and equipment.
- Advise foremen or site management of hazardous conditions.
- Participate in meetings and training sessions as assigned.
- Prepare written documents to log activities and information per company procedures.
- Provide assistance during emergencies to resolve immediate safety concerns.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective project completion and smooth department operation.
- Travel up to 100% may be required based on company needs.
- Current, Active Journeyman Electrician License applicable in the state of employment, meeting that state’s licensing requirements.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum four years of prior experience performing electrical work in a commercial or industrial construction environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
- Excellent working knowledge of building codes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet attendance standards and comply with late/absence notification procedures.
- Must pass drug and background checks.
The work environment includes indoor and outdoor construction sites with exposure to rain, heat, cold, and snow. Work may involve extreme heights, restricted areas such as switch gear rooms, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, or attics, confined spaces, slippery or uneven surfaces, ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, ditches, and excavations. Employees may be required to work in and around multi‑story buildings, using portable sanitary facilities as needed.

Required physical tasks include bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead. Employees must lift 51 pounds routinely, move constantly on feet, climb various ladders, and perform full‑day assignments involving overhead work. Transitioning from parking areas or streets to construction zones, using OSHA‑approved ladders or stairs under construction, will be necessary. Employees must secure tools and materials, possess adequate vision and hearing, discern color differences in wiring, and wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest) at all times.
The role requires an eight‑hour workday, 40‑hour week, with potential overtime, weekend, and night shifts as needed.
