The Heavy Equipment Operator plays a critical role in the construction, excavation, and material handling sectors by expertly operating a variety of heavy machinery to support project completion safely and efficiently. This position requires the operator to maneuver equipment such as dozers, dump trucks, boom forklifts, and excavators to move earth, materials, and equipment according to project specifications. Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid heavy equipment operator certification or equivalent training.
  • Proven experience operating dozers, dump trucks, boom forklifts, and forklifts in a construction or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and hazardous materials handling procedures.
  • Ability to pass a physical examination and drug screening.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional certifications in specialized equipment operation or safety training.
  • Experience with excavation projects and site preparation.
  • Familiarity with GPS or other technology-assisted equipment operation.
  • Previous experience working in diverse construction environments across the United States.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy machinery including dozers, dump trucks, boom forklifts, forklifts, and excavators to perform excavation, grading, and material transport tasks.
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance checks to ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
  • Follow all safety protocols and DOT regulations when handling hazardous materials and operating vehicles on public roads.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors and team members to execute daily work plans and adjust operations as needed to meet project goals.
  • Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and any incidents or safety concerns encountered during operations.
