Role summary:

The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration, is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves interpreting technical schematics, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Technician supports preventive maintenance programs, leads field teams, and communicates effectively with customers and management. Operating company vehicles and participating in on-call rotations are essential.

The position requires adherence to established policies and standards while contributing to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

About the team:

The Facility Services team ensures the reliable operation and maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration systems across Walmart locations. They perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and uphold safety and environmental standards. Collaborating with management and service providers, the team prioritizes tasks to meet business needs effectively. Utilizing technical expertise, they troubleshoot equipment issues while maintaining accurate records and inventory. Committed to integrity, clear communication, and operational excellence, the team creates a dependable environment that supports Walmart's mission to deliver quality service and value to customers.

What you'll do:

* Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork and control panels, ensuring compliance with building codes and operational standards.

* Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial equipment.

* Perform preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and minimize downtime.

* Maintain and repair refrigeration units such as racks, walk-ins, and supermarket systems.

* Conduct inspections and ensure adherence to OSHA and EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols.

* Lead and mentor field teams on technical procedures and safety practices.

* Manage service calls, coordinate with external providers, and maintain accurate documentation.

* Operate company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.

What you'll bring:

* Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settings.

* Strong ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, and building codes to ensure accurate system configuration.

* Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues and implementing preventive maintenance programs.

* Knowledge of OSHA standards and EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols.

* Skilled in operating heavy machinery and company vehicles safely and responsibly.

* Effective communication skills to explain technical issues and collaborate with customers and team members.

* Ability to lead field teams and mentor less-experienced technicians.

* Experience managing service calls, inventory, and documentation using digital tools.
