JOB SUMMARY

The overall aim of the Safe Place Healing Hearts (SPHH) Too Program is to support comprehensive, community-based efforts to address the needs of children impacted by domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking in Choctaw, McCurtain, and Pushmataha Counties. The Victim Services Coordinator/Victim Advocate will assist the Program Director with project activities, but primarily with regards to the planning, implementation, and provision of child victim services.

MAJOR

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist Director with the design, planning, implementation, and coordination of the SPHH Too Program.
  • Provide direct services to victims in the program (i.e. emotional support, advocacy, emergency and long-term assistance, coordination of referrals, follow-up services) as appropriate.
  • Conduct an intake assessment with victim clients and assess all needs; develop support and assistance goals based on identified needs.
  • Provide trauma-informed outreach, advocacy, and crisis intervention for victims as needed.
  • Maintain victim safety and confidentiality as a top priority when conducting all program activities, complying with confidentiality and privacy requirements of the Violence Against Women Act.
  • Conduct safety planning with victim clients and provide comprehensive case management, to include provision of resources and referrals as appropriate for immediate and follow-up services.
  • Based on identified needs, work to address immediate victim health and safety concerns through the Victim Assistance Fund and provision of Victim Support Kits.
  • Assist with ordering, stocking, documentation, and inventory tracking of Victim Support Kits.
  • Assist with coordination, documentation, and reporting of Client Support Fund expenditures.
  • Assist in the building of referral networks among service providers.
  • Work in cooperation with law enforcement agencies, District Attorney's Office, victim/other service providers/community agencies to appropriately respond to victim needs, including sharing information/coordinating activities; hold monthly meetings to facilitate work.
  • Assist in the development, coordination, and facilitation of victim support groups.
  • Maintain regular, long-term contact with victim clients (up to at least one year); assess client outcomes, stability, and safety through follow-up surveys.
  • Assist Director in developing client and partner pre-/post-surveys as well as other program measurement tools; distribute/collect surveys and assessments, input data, and assist with analysis.
  • Assist with provision of multidisciplinary training, education, and materials for partners and professionals who impact victims of sexual assault, domestic/dating violence, and stalking.
  • Work with the SPHH Too Planning and Implementation Team to determine topics, design, coordinate and conduct trainings for partners and victim service providers.
  • Work with each program partner to complete an organizational and community safety assessment.
  • Work with program partners to develop materials for community distribution to raise awareness and work towards prevention of sexual assault, domestic/dating violence, and stalking crimes, especially among children.
  • Develop various trainings and community awareness education/prevention presentations; assist with program events.
  • Help coordinate, participate in, and work to further build the County Sexual Assault Response Teams (SARTs), Coordinated Community Response Teams (CCRTs), and Multidisciplinary Teams (MDTs); provide program activity reports at monthly SART/CCRT and MDT meetings for each service county.
  • Attend all program trainings, including grant‑mandated training as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate, current statistical records and case management files for each victim client.
  • Assist Director with program reporting; maintain required performance reporting data as directed.

  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must submit to and pass a background screening.
  • Degree or equivalent work experience in criminal justice, child development, counseling, social services, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training and/or technical assistance is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with and empower victims of crime; knowledge and understanding of families in crisis is preferred.
  • Possess strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively as a team player as well as lead coalitions or large groups.
  • Must have valid Driver's License, valid automobile insurance, and own a vehicle.
  • SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIP

    Reports to the Victim and Youth Services Program Director and performs no staff supervision.

  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal/written) and maintain emotional control under stress.
