About the Center of Family Love

Center of Family Love (CFL) in Okarche, OK is a faith-based, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides residential and employment programs for adults with intellectual disabilities by cultivating their interests, skills and independence to live creative, productive and joyous lives. We are located 30 minutes west of north Oklahoma City.

Job Summary

Responsible for training and transporting resident employees to and from their daily employment. Provides on the job support and development to increase their job satisfaction and community interaction.

Qualifications and Training Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of serving individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience in a related field.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid Oklahoma driver's license, auto insurance as required by the State of Oklahoma.
  • Must pass an OSBI background check and have no prior listing on the Oklahoma Community Registry.
  • Must utilize good communication skills and be a team player.
  • Will complete, at the Center of Family Love's expense, all state mandated training within the time frames specified.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent bending, standing, walking.
  • Continuous ability for speech communication and hearing to communicate with residents, employees and the public.
  • Vision for reading, recording, and interpreting information.
  • Ability to stand for long hours at a time.
  • Ability to lift/carry a maximum of 25 pounds.
  • Satisfactory completion of post-offer, pre-employment physical as required.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist clients in learning their jobs both in center based and community employment.
  • Transport resident employees to and from work as specified in a weekly schedule.
  • Provide continual support to resident employees working in center based and community employment and foster greater community interaction.
  • Assist and teach resident employees to advocate for themselves.
  • Act as an advocate on the resident employees' behalf when they are unable to advocate for themselves.
  • Provide job development to place center based residents in community jobs.
  • Maintain current and accurate documentation based on program/contract requirements.
  • Ensure that resident employees sign in and out correctly.
  • Monitor attendance and payroll for accuracy.
  • Provide clear instructions to resident employees in a way that can be understood and effectively managed.
  • Work to identify the specific skill sets of resident employees and match them appropriately with jobs that fall within their skill sets.
  • Ensure that State regulations are followed regarding fire drills and tornado drills.
  • Maintain compliance for State surveys.
  • Maintain documents of contracts, time studies, grids, and MARS.
  • Protect the privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to the residents, CFL staff, facility information, and records.
  • Maintain a safe and secure working environment and practice safe working habits.
  • Must comply with the Center of Family Love attendance policy.
  • Maintain a neat appearance, good personal hygiene and appropriate attire.
  • Participate in training, in-services, and meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed.
