Otr Cdl-A Driver

Overview

OTR CDL A Driver position requiring long-distance, multi-state routes. Responsibilities include vehicle inspections, maintaining logs, securing cargo, and communicating with dispatch. Extended time on the road with adherence to safety regulations and delivery deadlines.

• Operate a Class A commercial tractor-trailer in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections; maintain electronic logs, mileage records, and delivery documentation.
• Ensure proper securing of cargo and compliance with Hours of Service requirements.
• Communicate route status, delays, and delivery updates with dispatch; report accidents, traffic incidents, or mechanical issues promptly.
• Complete pickups and deliveries safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

• Compensation typically structured as CPM, percentage of load, or guaranteed weekly pay; earnings vary with experience and route type.
• Potential additional earnings through detention pay, layover pay, safety bonuses, and performance incentives.
• Benefits often include health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, and home time; some roles may offer rider or pet programs.

• Must have a Class A CDL and be 21 years of age or older; 3 months of verifiable driving experience required.
• Must pass a DOT physical and drug test; no disqualifying convictions within specified time frames; SAP drivers are not eligible for hire.
• No more than 1 CMV on-road preventable accident in the last 2 years; no major CMV preventable accidents in the last 5 years; no more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years.
