SummaryDrives truck to transport chicks to and from specified destinations by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Drives truck to and from broiler farms.
- Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
- Drives a forklift to load and unload truck.
- Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
- Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.
- Must comply with all DOT and State driver training and documentation requirements.
- Other duties may be assigned.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate hours of service, complete log book hours and calculate and report hours worked.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsMust have a Class-A CDL Drivers License. Must have no major driving violations and be able to pass a D.O.T. physical and drug test. Must pass all requirements to be a PIE (powdered industrial equipment) operator.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision.
WorkEnvironment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
