The 7th–10th Grade Science Teacher is responsible for delivering high‑quality, standards‑aligned instruction across middle and early high school science courses.
This teacher plays a critical role in helping students develop scientific reasoning, problem‑solving skills, and a deep understanding of the natural world
, while building the academic habits needed for success in advanced coursework and beyond.
This role reports to the Head of School and works closely with the instructional team to support student growth.
Key Responsibilities Instructional Excellence- Deliver rigorous, standards‑aligned instruction grounded in Spartan Prime standards
- Teach core scientific concepts across disciplines (life, physical, and earth science as applicable)
- Design lessons that incorporate hands‑on learning, inquiry, and real‑world application
- Emphasize scientific thinking, problem‑solving, and evidence‑based reasoning
- Balance conceptual understanding with key content knowledge
- Engage students in investigations, experiments, and data analysis
- Develop students’ ability to ask questions, form hypotheses, and draw conclusions
- Connect science learning to real‑world contexts and future career pathways
- Promote curiosity and a mindset of exploration
- Use assessment data (including NWEA MAP and classroom assessments) to guide instruction
- Identify student needs and provide targeted support and differentiation
- Monitor student growth and adjust instruction to ensure progress for all learners
- Build a structured, engaging classroom environment with clear expectations
- Develop strong relationships with students rooted in trust and accountability
- Foster a culture where students feel safe to take risks, explore ideas, and learn from mistakes
- Participate in PLCs, instructional coaching, and professional development
- Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen instruction and alignment
- Reflect on practice and commit to continuous improvement
