Role Purpose

Lead and drive the Continuous Improvement initiatives and strategies for the Plant including the Plant 5S Program, GEMBA walks, CI Projects, Operational Excellence, Focus Improvement and Kaizen, and OEE.

Food, Environment, Health & Safety Duty of Care
  • Food Safety:
    Carry out responsibilities/duties according to food safety, legal and quality requirements to ensure that our products are fit for human consumption.

    Comply with all environmental standards, procedures, and work instructions always. Report any environmental violation or near misses to prevent any impact upon the local environment, its inhabitants and Tate & Lyle.
  • Health & Safety:
    Adhere to the safety policies, procedures, and site rules. Fully participate in the safety program, including reporting any incidents or near misses and auditing.
Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation of the overall 5S program for the Plant, including training, development and execution of the implementation process, definition of the implementation plan to follow priorities, creation of auditing process and schedule.
  • Lead and execute the CI methodologies training including defining the skills and topics, creating schedule and implementation plan, developing training material and conducting the trainings.
  • Lead and drive the GEMBA Walks strategy for the site: define and create process and structure, create process for capturing and tracking actions, and follow up, track schedule completion.
  • Lead the CI Projects (Non-CAPEX) program for the site, driving cost and productivity savings aligned with the business requirements.
  • Develop and implement the CI projects framework defining track/report structures, studies methodologies, supporting the skills gap analysis for the Project leaders.
  • Lead the development of the projects pipeline and priorities and develop strategy for project follow‑up and tracking.
  • Work closely with Project Engineers to determine project impact on cost savings.
  • Lead and coordinate the implementation of the Operational Excellence program for all the operational areas of the site, including gap analysis, development of the implementation plan and program implementation.
  • Lead the overall OEE strategy for the site, including the development and implementation of the OEE framework for collecting data, OEE tracking and reporting, and the approach for initiating improvement projects.
  • Lead the Focus Improvement/Kaizen program for the Plant through defining and creating the process, supporting the selection of initiatives, supporting the development of the implementation plan, creating the program structure and steps, facilitating the events.
  • Work with Corporate and other plants to align and support Global initiatives.
Skills, Training and Experience Required
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and relevant statistical techniques (Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control (SPC)).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead studies, CI programs development and implementation, and work with different stakeholders.
  • Experience with leading and influencing people without direct reporting authority.
  • Experience with developing and delivering training.
  • Must interpret information from various sources and recommend courses of action designed to address problem areas.
  • Demonstrated ability in the use and application of problem‑solving methodologies.
  • Lean Six Sigma belt training and implementation experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with 5S, OEE, and Kaizen.
  • Experience with tracking and reporting KPIs and project results.
  • Seven years or more of experience in manufacturing processes.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS degree in a technical area.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $90,000 – $135,000.
