The RoleThe Senior CNC Programmer position, based in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, is a hands-on senior role for someone who programs and operates CNC machines. You'll do CAM programming for complex aerospace parts, set up and run jobs alongside your teammates, and mentor the team of programmers and operators to raise the overall skill level of the shop. You'll work directly with our engineering group on design-for-manufacturability, first articles, and complex new parts.
Our CNC machine list includes two 5-axis mills (HAAS UMC-1000SS & 1250SS), two lathes (SL-30T & DS-30Y), a large-envelope 3-axis router (DMS), water jet (IFB 6012), laser engraver, and supporting equipment.
What You'll Do- Program CNC 3, 4, & 5-axis mills, lathes, water jet, & laser engravers in Hyper
MILL, Fusion 360, & other CAM software. - Design work holding, set up, prove out, complete in-process inspection, and run parts.
- Operate machines in production; this is not solely a desk job.
- Mentor and develop other machinists and programmers through hands-on coaching and being a team player.
- Partner with engineering on feedback before parts hit the floor.
- Build and maintain standard tooling libraries, post processors, and programming standards.
- Support AS9100D quality requirements including FAI documentation (AS9102), traceability, and process control.
- Troubleshoot tooling, fixturing, and process issues to improve cycle time and yield.
- Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
- 5+ years of CNC programming and 5+ years of machining experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience programming and running 5-axis mills and lathes.
- Comfort working with aluminum, stainless, steel, and exotic alloys (tungsten, titanium, Inconel a plus).
- Track record of mentoring or leading other machinists.
- Possess effective communication skills in both verbal and written forms within a professional business aviation environment.
- Exhibit excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrate the ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as required.
- Successfully pass pre-employment background check and Non-DOT drug and alcohol tests.
- Subject to random Non-DOT drug and alcohol tests as a job requirement.
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs.
- Strong proficiency in Hyper
MILL & Fusion 360 CAM software. - Background in low-volume, high-mix aerospace work.
- Lean or continuous improvement experience.
- Experience in an AS9100 environment with FAI/AS9102 documentation.
- Experience with FAA PMA parts or STC programs.
$35.00 - $50.00 per hour. Paid bi-weekly. Overtime paid at 1.5x for hours over 40 per week.
