Job Overview

Role PurposePackaging Operator I is responsible for the packaging of basegum material, reprocessing of WIP material (reblending, milling and agglomeration) and clean‑up associated with biogum products. The position requires knowledge and understanding of the technology and process operations to operate and troubleshoot equipment efficiently and safely. The operator is expected to make decisions and necessary changes to correct deviations in process conditions and to assist in troubleshooting operational problems.
Responsibilities- Work independently to complete assigned work tasks and monitor and operate equipment.
- Operate packaging equipment, follow technology and process operations, troubleshoot equipment, and operate computer interfaces as needed.
- Adhere to GMP regulations and plant policies.
- Climb stairs and ladders to monitor and set up equipment, and access difficult areas that require bending or stooping.
- Open and close various types and sizes of valves.
- Work in varying environmental conditions, including temperatures below freezing to over 90°F.
- Walk/stand on concrete, gravel, metal grating and slippery surfaces as required.
- Maintain production areas free of deposits of processed material through extensive cleaning procedures.
- Conduct detailed cleaning using sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and specialized tools and high‑pressure hoses.
- Manually lift, bend, or squat to move waste and drum containers, and operate vacuum assemblies up to 50feet.
- Drive and operate forklift, including steering, lifting, and maneuvering on smooth and uneven terrain.
- Package product at the Okmulgee plant—fill fiber drums, boxes, or bags, label, and stack onto pallets for shipping.
- Process WIP material in reprocessing operations, including fine mesh, waste gum milling, agglomerator, and reblend systems.
- Charge product into blenders, follow processing instructions, and perform basic troubleshooting of equipment.
- Code and re‑code drums using manual dexterity, applying hand‑rolled codes to drums up to 100lb.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior employment experience in a manufacturing or warehouse position is desirable.
- Knowledge of computer applications.
