Maintenance Mechanic

Responsible for troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment throughout the site. Works 7 days a week, working in one or more plant areas, requiring call‑ins.

• Repair, replace and install equipment: pumps, screw conveyors, rotary valves, relief valves, motors, conveyors, and auxiliaries (pipes, flanges, gaskets, mechanical seals, filters).
• Align, disassemble and rebuild production equipment: reciprocating compressors, steam turbines, bearing members, gearboxes and pumps.
• Utilize micrometers and calipers to repair equipment; operate drill press, hydraulic press, pedestal grinder, mill and lathes.
• Work independently or in small groups to install, repair and replace equipment: pumps, valves, motors and other process equipment.
• Operate handheld tools requiring up to 100 pounds of torque to disassemble mechanical units; tools may be manual, electrical or pneumatic.
• Walk/stand on concrete, asphalt, metal grated or diamond steel plated walkways and stairways; stand approximately 5‑6 hours per day; climb up to 5 flights of stairs 3‑4 times a day; kneel, crouch or crawl to reach restricted access work areas 1‑2 times daily.
• Work in varying environmental conditions: outdoors with temperatures from ‑32°F to 100°F; indoors up to 110°F or higher.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Basic mathematics competency; ability to read, write and work from blueprints or single‑line drawings.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment; knowledge of valve types and maintenance.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers) and machine tools (drill press, hydraulic press, pedestal grinder, mill, lathes).
