Shop Service Mechanic

ROW Shop Mechanic – $25–$40/Hour + $3,000 Sign-On Bonus

Riggs Tree Service is seeking a dependable, experienced ROW Shop Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for keeping our Right-of-Way equipment, trucks, and machinery maintained, repaired, and ready for the field.

Starting wage ranges from $25 to $40 per hour, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently, and understands the importance of keeping equipment safe and operational.

Qualified applicants who bring their own tools are eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus, paid in increments over the first six months of employment.

Diagnose, repair, and maintain company trucks, equipment, and machinery

Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services

Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel-related issues

Repair and maintain equipment used by Right-of-Way crews

Inspect equipment and identify potential problems before they cause downtime

Maintain accurate service and repair records

Keep the shop and work areas clean, organized, and safe

Communicate equipment needs and repair status with supervisors and field crews

Assist with emergency and priority repairs as needed

Follow company safety policies and procedures

Previous mechanic, diesel mechanic, heavy-equipment, or fleet-maintenance experience preferred

Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Experience working with trucks, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and heavy equipment preferred

Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs

Dependable, safety-minded, and willing to work as part of a team

Valid driver’s license

Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position

Must provide own tools to qualify for the $3,000 sign-on bonus
