Construction Laborer - Pittsburg, KS

Job Summary

General Laborer position located in Pittsburg, Kansas. Performs general laborer tasks such as demolition, loading/unloading, digging, and clean‑up to aid daily operations at a construction site.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient construction site.
• Move, secure, load, and unload construction materials up to 100 pounds.
• Perform demolition of existing construction work.
• Pump water and remove snow following weather events.
• Install and maintain temporary weather precaution measures.
• Operate hand and power tools, and small machinery such as skid steers, street sweepers, and forklifts as required.
• Control traffic in and around work zones.
• Clean and prepare construction site to eliminate potential hazards.
• Perform final clean‑up of the project prior to owner turnover.
• Identify and report or correct potential hazards associated with task assignments to maintain a safe work area.

• Ability to perform each primary responsibility satisfactorily.
• Familiarity with field concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Experience using various power tools and small machinery.
• Good interpersonal skills and team spirit.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Reasoning ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule instructions.
• Pass a background check, drug screen, physical capacity profile, and E‑Verify.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.

• OSHA 10‑hour certification.
• Applicable certifications such as Lift Operation, Scaffold, etc.
• First Aid/CPR training.

Frequent standing, walking, use of hands to handle objects, and reaching with hands and arms. Often required to climb, balance, stoop, or kneel. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently up to 100 pounds, and occasionally more than 100 pounds.

Work conducted outdoors in varying weather conditions; frequent proximity to moving mechanical parts. Occasional work in high, precarious places and exposure to wet and/or humid conditions. Noise level is usually moderate.
