Extraordinary Homes specializes in modern custom residential design and construction. POSITIONOVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Project Architect to join our team in a full-time, in-office role. This is a unique opportunity for a senior-level professional who is ready to take on meaningful responsibility and grow into a leadership position. With both principals at or near retirement age, the right candidate will have a clear path toward assuming day-to-day operational leadership of the firm.
The role can be shaped to align with the strengths and interests of the right candidate.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead projects from initial client meetings through schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding, and construction administration
- Serve as the primary client contact, managing regular communication and maintaining strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle
- Produce accurate, high-quality construction documents using AutoCAD
- Conduct field visits to monitor construction progress and ensure design intent is upheld
- Manage and mentor junior staff and interns
- Collaborate with project teams across multiple concurrent projects
Required:
- 10 or more years of professional experience in architecture
- Demonstrated residential design experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Strong client communication and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Architectural licensure (RA)
- Commercial project experience
- Flexible educational background considered
- Salary: $75,000 - $120,000 annually (salaried, non-exempt), commensurate with experience
- 15 days PTO plus 8 paid holidays
- Continuing Education (CEU) support

- Flexible hours – accuracy and quality are prioritized over speed
Our studio is collaborative and team-based, with most projects handled by small, dedicated teams. The pace is fast, and you will typically be working across several projects in a given week. We value precision and craftsmanship in our drawings above all else. There is no travel required.
