THE MISSION The Teacher is expected to:
Instruct preschool-aged students, following curricula or lesson plans, in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.
Teach and supervise children in child development center(s) to ensure appropriate skills, knowledge, and behaviors are learned.
Arrange childcare or educational settings to ensure physical safety of children.
Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
A SNAPSHOT OF EXCITING THINGS YOU WILL DO:
Teach basic skills, such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills.
Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order.
Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
Develop teaching plans for children, write a weekly lesson plan and review plans with the Center Coordinator.
Document all classrooms activities; monitor the progress of children continually.
Prepare reports detailing student activities or performance.
Meet with parents on a regular basis, counsel behavior problems.
Evaluate student work and maintain student records.
Collaborate with other teaching professionals to develop educational programs.
Plan field trips and outdoor activities, coordinate arrangements.
Drive and deliver assigned children to and from Center.
Attend training sessions or professional meetings to develop or maintain professional knowledge.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Center Coordinator.
