Mid America Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas, is seeking a passionate educator to join our faculty as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Criminal Justice. This full time position is ideal for professionals committed to shaping service minded leaders in a variety of criminal justice areas such as law, law enforcement, corrections, and related public service fields. Candidates should embody a Christ Centered worldview, model servant leadership, and contribute enthusiastically to student success both inside and outside the classroom.
Position
Description:
Develop and deliver high-quality undergraduate courses in criminal justice utilizing innovative teaching methods to engage students Foster a supportive educational environment by advising and mentoring students in academic choices, career development, and student clubs and activities Assist the department and university to recruit and enroll students who are a good fit for our culture, mission, and vision Develop, evaluate, and revise curriculum, course materials, and delivery methods as changes in the field and teaching environments warrant Provide leadership for the criminal justice program and assist the Department Chair with program management tasks such as assessment Participate in scholarly activities and serve on department and university committees Works collegially with departmental and cross campus faculty
Qualifications:
* A doctorate in criminal justice, law, or related field. ABD or master's degree with strong experience will be considered.
* Evidence of high-quality teaching and desire to actively participate in student mentorship is highly preferred.
* Student-focused educator committed to student learning, retention, persistence, and completion.
* History of successful engagement/experience with law enforcement, corrections, courts and/or related community services.
* A track record as a collaborative, servant-leader with outstanding written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
