Test Software Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a full-time Test Software Engineer 1 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for building upon existing testing frameworks and methodologies to develop basic tests for Garmin products.

• Develops test software in C, C++, Lab Window’s CVI, Test Stand, or other selected languages in accordance with Garmin’s software development methodology to test the performance and functionality of Garmin’s communication and navigation products
• Troubleshoots basic testing problems, correctly identifies root cause of failures, works with project team to resolve issues
• Uses test development tools and equipment (in-house and commercial) to test appliances
• Consistently follows Test Development Standard and project test procedure definitions
• May be responsible for planning own technical work
• Applies design standards and procedures using appropriate engineering tools to document and implement basic designs in an organized manner

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
• Experience and/or training in high level computer languages such as C/C++ and scripting languages relevant to Garmin’s business needs
• Demonstrates knowledge, education, experience and/or training necessary to develop tests and troubleshoot basic testing problems

• Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
• Relevant experience in Test Stand
• Training in GPIB / IEEE interfaces with test equipment
