SUMMARYAs a Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our ground-based radio navigation aids and systems. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive test plans, both automated and manual, to validate system functionality, performance, and reliability, and flexing with general Software Engineering & Testing duties.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Design and develop detailed test plans and procedures for system-level Design Qualification Testing, encompassing both automated and manual testing methodologies.
- Develop automated tests using C/C++, Python, or MATLAB to streamline repetitive testing tasks and improve efficiency.
- Conduct manual system-level testing to validate system behavior, performance, and reliability, ensuring comprehensive coverage of test scenarios.
- Utilize lab test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, vector signal generators, and other specialized test equipment to perform system testing and analysis.
- Conduct integration testing within various components of the product to verify seamless interoperability and compatibility. Additionally, perform integration testing with customer interfaces to ensure alignment with customer requirements and expectations.
- Identify and diagnose the root cause of system faults, performance issues, and test procedures through systematic analysis and debugging techniques.
- Conduct verification and validation activities to confirm that system requirements are met and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as DO-278.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing test procedures to ensure consistent product quality and reliability during the production process.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, FPGA engineers, and manufacturing to investigate and resolve issues identified during testing.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies, methodologies, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, and MATLAB
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
- Experience with lab test equipment and software tools
- Experience with safety critical software development or highly regulated development processes or standards such as DO-178 or DO-278 is a plus
- Experience working on US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Defense (DoD), or other civil or military aviation authorities is a plus
- Experience with FPGA design/VHDL
- 2-5 years of Software Engineering
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s from an ABET accredited College or University in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science
- Must be able to pass a U.S. government background check investigation
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position
- May be required to travel both domestically and/or internationally on an as needed basis
- May be required to interface with internal and external technical personnel
