Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with 30 minutes lunch
Location: Local candidates (commute within Kansas City, KS or MO area)
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the manufacturing and assembly of diesel and natural gas-powered generator solutions in a cost effective and timely manner while fulfilling quality standards. Review work instructions, build product per specifications and within tolerance, complete all clean-up and housekeeping procedures, and comply with all quality, safety, work rules and regulations. Specializing in Robotics & Power Solutions.
Responsibilities- Read Mechanical and electrical blueprints and produce mechanical and electrical blueprints reflecting modifications to equipment or in-house produced equipment.
- All other requests that will help to maintain efficiency and effectiveness of daily operations including training of other maintenance personnel.
- Routine (black work orders) duties and repair.
- Maintain 5S directives and participate in continuous improvement.
- Assist in the design and development of electrical engineered devices, equipment or systems established criteria or specifications.
- Assist in the inspection and evaluation of electrical engineered projects and resources.
- Identify electrical engineering problems and recommend corrective action.
- Review and update technical electrical engineering project design documents, computations, and submittals.
- Prepare technical electrical engineering reports and studies with completeness, technical adequacy, and adhere to prescribed format of reports.
- Work with other electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to develop integrated solutions.
- Ability to work closely with other engineers, prototyping, product engineering and sales in a team environment.
- Analyze and interpret electrical system/subsystem requirements and specifications.
- Evaluate new or alternate products.
- Assist with development of new product offers to meet market needs.
- Create, modify, and update schematics, BOMs, and electrical schematics for new products.
- Provide input and support to manufacturing design/discussions decisions.
- Work with vendors and sourcing to define technical requirements for the product/components.
- Prototype circuits and assemblies to prove concepts and reduce design risks.
- Iteratively improve designs to pass functional design verification, safety, and UL validation testing.
- Perform trouble shooting at the component and system level.
- Verify and document circuit and assembly functions per design requirements.
- Identify and present improvement opportunities for quality, delivery and product cost.
- Generate engineering change orders to release components and assemblies, make improvements and clarifications, and reduce opportunities for errors.
- Redesign assemblies for better performance, lower cost, UL compliance, and/or elimination of obsolete or at-risk components.
- Determine root causes, document, and propose solutions.
- Contribute to the maintenance of the Quality Management System through the correct execution of its functions and/or activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.
- Consistently follows and adheres to all safety and good manufacturing practices (GMP's).
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited institution
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Industrial Power Engineering
- Medium to Expert skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Medium to Expert skills in Autodesk Suite or Solid Works
- Precise accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.
- Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
- Required to talk and hear. Frequently required to stand/sit for long periods of time.
- Able to use office equipment and occasionally lift a maximum of 40 pounds.
- Constantly use hands and fingers, to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms to operate equipment.
- Visual acuity is necessary to do the job safely and effectively.…
