Overview
We are seeking a full time Aviation Simulation Systems Engineer for our Aviation Systems team at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you’ll support successful conception, development, and/or application of sophisticated avionics systems by providing system support for complex integrated flight deck programs and/or retrofit product lines for simulation environments.
Essential Functions- Develop improvements to data packages delivered to simulator companies
- Provide troubleshooting support to identify the system root cause within a simulated system environment
- Support troubleshooting of issues reported by simulation companies
- Identify improvements and modify tools for use in system simulation solutions
- Provide reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques
- Maintain tracking of simulator system integration issues and coordinate solutions across engineering teams
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another technical field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge in one or more of the following technical areas:
Systems Integration, System Safety, System Requirements - Demonstrated problem solving ability
- Master’s Degree in an Engineering field
- Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
- Relevant experience and/or training in an applicable high-level software programming language
- 5+ years of relevant experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description
- Pilot’s License, and/or demonstrated knowledge of Garmin’s aviation product lines and customer needs
- Prior experience with simulator design or qualification
