Overview
We are seeking a full-time Configuration Control Specialist at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and performing moderately complex configuration control tasks and other related item master or ECO (Engineering Change Order) coordination activities.
Essential Functions- Maintain accurate product and part information in Garmin's systems
- Coordinate engineering design changes from approval through implementation
- Update and validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and item master record
- Ensure manufacturing, procurement, and other departments have the correct product data
- Investigate configuration issues, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions
- Support new product introductions, product revisions, and end-of-life product transitions
- Identify opportunities to improve configuration control processes and increase efficiency
- Work closely with engineers, planners, buyers, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure changes are implemented accurately and on schedule
- Bachelor's Degree OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Working knowledge of Engineering Change Orders, Bills of Material Structures and Product Lifecyle Transitions
- Ability to use and apply departmental tools in programs such as Excel and Qlik
- Excellent communication skills and works well with team members and internal customers
- Demonstrates ownership and accountability in key performance indicators around speed and efficiency in the configuration management process
- Ability to communicate with cross functional teams and customers
- Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft Office skills
- Demonstrates understanding of parts drawings and implementing changes within a quality system by using Product Lifecycle Management software such as Agile or similar tools
- Basic understanding of supply chain, manufacturing processes and ERP systems
