The Member Development Officer has a key role within the credit union branch, responsible for fostering and nurturing strong relationships with members both in-branch and through a variety of market outreach opportunities. This individual will engage with members to understand their financial needs and guide them on their financial journeys, assisting with account openings, loan applications, account maintenance, and day-to-day transactions.
In addition to in-branch responsibilities, this position will actively partner with other lines of business to drive market development efforts through outreach initiatives such as attending external events, hosting financial workshops, and engaging with surrounding businesses and places of employment to increase brand awareness and membership growth.
This role is ideal for a dynamic, community-oriented individual with a passion for delivering exceptional member service and fostering long-term relationships. Success in this position requires a blend of strong interpersonal skills, market development acumen, and a commitment to providing personalized financial solutions to meet the needs of every member.
Major Responsibilities- Establish and grow the member base and market awareness of Mainstreet Credit Union around your assigned branch.
- Conducting consultative meetings with members and prospective members to assess and address their financial goals, recommending relevant products and services, and ensuring a seamless, positive experience across all engagement channels.
- Support local market outreach efforts, build relationships with local businesses, and participate in events that promote Mainstreet’s services and expand its member base.
- Build and maintain strong member relationships through proactive communication methods such as outbound calls, emails, onboarding, and regular follow-ups.
- Consult with current and prospective members to identify current and future financial service needs.
- Provide members with personalized financial counseling and education services aimed at improving their financial health.
