- Identify and assess customer needs across personal and small‑business banking.
- Provide personalized financial advice and guidance on products such as everyday banking, retail investments, lending solutions, home financing, and small‑business solutions.
- Conduct needs‑based assessments and recommend tailored solutions that align with the customer’s goals and preferred banking channels.
- Engage customers through face‑to‑face, phone, or digital channels to grow loyalty and generate new relationships.
- Support transaction processing and resolve customer issues while ensuring accurate data entry and compliance with legal, regulatory, and lending policies.
- Apply BMO’s risk management framework to protect bank assets and maintain portfolio quality in accordance with yield, quality, diversification, and risk guidelines.
- Make credit recommendations for personal lending transactions, including home financing, in line with sound credit granting principles.
- Collaborate with branch and marketing teams to integrate promotions and programs into customer conversations, providing strategic advice.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of customer interactions and work information.
- Identify and report suspicious patterns of activity related to money laundering and other regulatory requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall customer experience.
- Typically 2–3 years of relevant experience or a post‑secondary degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- For Canada: registration to sell investment products (as appropriate for the jurisdiction).
- Appropriate lending qualifications and designations.
- Working knowledge of personal and small‑business customer needs and solutions.
- Working knowledge of retail investments and lending products.
- Experience in a consultative customer‑service or sales role with a drive to deliver a personal customer experience.
- Proficiency with social media, tablets, smartphones, online tools, and applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport and connections with customers.
- Excellent listening, problem‑solving, and flexible thinking skills.
- Resourceful self‑starter with courage and confidence to approach customers.
- Readiness to collaborate and work in various capacities as part of a team.
- Good verbal, written, organizational, and analytical skills.

Salary: $41,714.00 – $65,000.00 (salaried). May include commission and performance‑based incentives. Salaries vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications. Part‑time roles are pro‑rated.
