Our ambassadors, also called volunteers, work in both clinical and non-clinical areas. Their talents are used at information desks, reception areas, patient registration, surgery family room, business offices, and hospice care – just to name a few. They also help with special projects such as Community Blood Drives and fundraising events. Ambassadors and staff work as a team to provide compassionate care and support to our patients and families.
Could you donate a few hours a week to visit with a hospice patient who resides in Johnson County? Share memories, go through photo albums, play cards, read to them, or just sit quietly in their home (or nursing home) while they rest. Shifts are usually once weekly for a few hours but we’re flexible. You decide how far you’re willing to travel.
No direct patient care is required – just a caring heart.
Do you enjoy visiting with others? Are you friendly and approachable? Do you have compassion for others? If so, you would be a perfect fit!
