Position Summary / Career Interest:
The Weekend CT Technologist is responsible for producing images that provide cross‑sectional imaging for the purpose of diagnosing disease processes. Procedures can be performed at various locations throughout the Main Campus, West Plaza, Medical Office Building, Westwood, and Olathe. CT Technologists are expected to participate in ongoing training and education. This role requires a minimum of a 12‑month commitment and completion of an orientation training program.
Responsibilitiesand Essential Job Functions
- Acts as a liaison for communication between other departments and assists when called upon for special projects that have been approved by the Radiology Department leadership team.
- Assists with developing continuing education strategies with the CT Department to support long‑term staff enrichment.
- Participates in providing teaching and learning opportunities to fellow technologists and students.
- Ensures all staff operate equipment optimally and safely by adhering to policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Operates CT scanners and auxiliary devices within the scope of designated locations, ensuring radiation exposure is set to provide the lowest dose for reasonable image quality as overseen by staff radiologists.
- Maintains an organized flow of scheduled patients, coordinates examinations in the most efficient order, and performs exams in a sequence that minimizes the patient’s stay in the hospital.
- Has an excellent working knowledge of contrast reactions and responses and is able to respond immediately to patient needs.
- Completes mandatory educational assignments as provided by supervisor/senior supervisor.
- Performs routine CT procedures at a very high standard, continually increasing knowledge and ability to conduct specialty studies with experience.
- Sets equipment parameters, provides patient assessment and education, ensures accurate patient preparation, and provides venous access for the safe administration of contrast material.

- Performs the professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology
- Experience performing basic CT procedures
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- 1–3 years of large‑facility experience
- Computed Tomography (CT) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT) – Kansas Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA) within 90 days
- Radiography (R) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- CT Certifications within 180 days
- Computer skills: high level related to RIS, PACS, EMR
