- Evaluate patients from newborn to geriatric age with acquired or congenital impairments in cognition, communication, speech, language, voice, fluency, or swallowing
- Plan and implement individualized Speech-Language Pathology treatment programs
- Conduct video swallow evaluations in Radiology with a Radiologist and Radiology staff
- Make recommendations for referrals, Audiology services, adaptive equipment, and assistive equipment
- Educate patients, families, nursing personnel, and professional staff on treatment objectives and home management
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Manage patient schedules to maximize efficiency and reduce cancellations
- Prepare evaluation, progress, discharge, and outpatient chart documentation
- Complete audit, volume, charging, billing, and cancellation reports
- Supervise and direct Rehabilitation Aides and Student Speech-Language Pathologists
- Assist with inservice training, continuing education, and Performance Improvement activities
- Bachelor's Degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited SLP Education Program
- Licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) upon hire through the applicable state department
- CPR/AED/BLS certification; BLS required within 14 days
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
- Previous healthcare experience preferred
Demonstrates expertise in evaluating and treating patients with speech and language impairments across all age groups, while effectively collaborating with healthcare teams and managing patient care documentation. Proficient in conducting video swallow evaluations and providing education to patients and families.
