This position requires a BSRB credential with a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, Psychology, or another Human Services field. It provides initial intake diagnostic assessments, develops treatment plans, and delivers individual, group, and family therapy services. The clinician works closely with case managers, psychiatrists, service coordinators, and direct care staff to meet youth substance use and mental health needs, including discharge planning and post‑discharge recommendations.

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments as part of intake, ongoing services, and crisis intervention; identify individual needs and diagnose substance use or mental health disorders; assess suicide risk and other safety concerns; determine need for medication evaluation and referral; communicate relevant information to individuals, families, and stakeholders.
• Develop complex treatment and intervention plans addressing clinical needs in single or multiple focus areas; network with other community agencies to coordinate resources and services; collaborate with providers on plan development, implementation, and review.
• Provide psychotherapy and other clinical services for a designated caseload, ensuring consistency with individual plans; initiate and attend individual or group meetings; facilitate skill‑development, clinical, and support groups; respond to emergency or crisis requests; arrange appropriate care and services; review and update diagnoses and level of care.
• Complete and submit clinical documentation of services provided; evaluate and document individuals’ progress toward measurable goals; review and approve documentation and plans of care created by other staff; monitor the quality and effectiveness of services.

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or other Human Services field and Kansas Behavioral Sciences licensure at the master's level in the area of focus. KS/MO driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
• Applicants who meet Kansas licensure requirements may be considered if licensure is obtained by time of an employment offer and is pending confirmation at the time of application.
• Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.

• Kansas Behavioral Sciences license at the clinical level and at least one year of experience in the area of focus.

All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
