Description

The Patient Care Technician provides essential patient care and clinical support in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians. This role is vital in ensuring patients receive high-quality, compassionate care before and after surgical procedures. The Patient Care Technician assists with preoperative and postoperative care, monitors patient well-being, and helps maintain a safe, clean, and efficient surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Support preoperative patient preparation, including gowning, positioning, and ensuring readiness for procedures.
• Provide postoperative care, including monitoring for discomfort, assisting with mobility, and ensuring patients recover safely.
• Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration) and report changes in patient conditions.
• Assist the nursing and surgical teams with patient positioning, transport, and procedural support.
• Maintain sterile and clean environments, ensuring all patient care areas meet safety and infection control standards.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families, helping to reduce anxiety before and after procedures.
• Stock and maintain medical supplies in patient care areas to ensure quick access for nurses and physicians.
• Follow all ASC policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with healthcare standards.

Requirements

Educational Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Experience:

Prior experience in a healthcare setting,

Skills:

Knowledge of patient care techniques and infection control protocols. Ability to monitor and record patient vital signs accurately. Proficiency in using basic medical equipment (e.g., thermometers, blood pressure cuffs). Physical and
