OverviewSenior Human Resources Generalist – Manufacturing (Olathe, KS) serves as a key partner to plant leadership and employees. This role provides hands-on HR support across core HR functions including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compliance, and HR systems. The ideal candidate is experienced in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, comfortable on the plant floor, and capable of handling complex employee matters with professionalism and discretion.
Whatyou will do (Job Responsibilities)
- Serve as the primary contact in addressing day-to-day HR issues such as performance management, benefits questions, attendance, payroll, and other workplace concerns; escalate complex issues as appropriate.
- Advise supervisors and managers on performance management, policy interpretation, and consistent HR practices.
- Support and participate in disciplinary meetings, coaching, workplace investigations, and termination processes, ensuring compliance with policy and labor laws.
- Foster a positive employee relations climate and promote respectful workplace practices.
- Partner with hiring managers to manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions.
- Coordinate hiring events, interviews, background checks, and pre-employment processes.
- Lead new hire onboarding and orientation, ensuring a smooth and compliant onboarding experience.
- Manage and support temporary agency staffing, performance and relationships.
- Support retention initiatives and employee engagement efforts.
- Assist with administration and interpretation of company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the labor market, employment law, and HR disciplines; proactively engage in development opportunities and stay current on HR practices.
- Support HR systems (e.g., Ceridian Dayforce, Success Factors) by coordinating information collection, data input, and reporting.
- Manage attendance tracking and administer attendance policy.
- Serve as site Benefit contact including disability and FMLA inquiries.
- Provide direction and support for regulatory requirements (EEO, FLSA, OSHA, FMLA, ADA, and corporate guidelines).
- Support annual HR processes such as pay planning, AAP reporting, system data audits, etc.
- Maintain accurate employee records and confidentiality of HR information.
- Support audits, reporting, and documentation requirements.
- Support delivery of required training and track progress.
- Assist with leadership development initiatives and employee training programs.
- Coach supervisors on effective people management practices.
- Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and management, including time and attendance questions, benefits guidance, and policy clarification.
- Be a visible HR presence on the plant floor.
- Support HR Manager on special projects, investigations, and organizational initiatives.
- Advocate for continuous improvement and safety culture.
- Proactively identify risks, opportunities, and solutions to enable business improvement and growth.
- Provide HR and business metrics for monthly/quarterly reporting.
- Participate in other projects related to HR goals and organizational initiatives.
