AboutThe Role
The Pharmacy Inventory Technician manages drug inventory, purchasing records, distribution, and cost records. The role requires knowledge of pharmacy policies and practices.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Receive goods and verify against purchasing records; enter receipts, returns, and distributions in the computerized inventory system.
- Maintain invoicing for all drug and supply accounts.
- Coordinate with operations to support communication and business needs.
- Sort and stock inventory on shelves daily upon receipt of orders.
- Periodically review inventory for expired, damaged, or overstocked medications and coordinate disposal or return through designated channels.
- Ensure accuracy of computerized inventory records; perform regular cycle counts and investigate variances.
- Conduct periodic physical inventories in accordance with management standards.
- Prepare pharmacy department for physical inventory: update shelf locations, print labels, prepare count sheets, and organize products by lot number; enter completed counts into the database.
- Work with accounting or manager to resolve reconciliation issues.
- Manage medication recall notifications in conjunction with the pharmacy manager.
- Perform duties assigned by leadership and maintain a positive, professional demeanor.
- Adhere to Select Rx policies and procedures, maintain confidentiality, and support company culture.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word).
- English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking).
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1 year of inventory control or pharmacy technician experience required.
- 3 years of inventory control experience preferred.
- Experience in retail mail‑order or specialty pharmacy as a pharmacy technician is a plus.
- Knowledge of standard medical terminology is a plus.
- Associate assigned to Olathe, KS facility: must obtain Kansas State Pharmacy Technician license.
- Stand and walk at least 8 hours per day.
- Move frequently between workstations and production areas.
- Bend, stoop, reach, and climb stairs or ladders repeatedly.
- Use hands and arms to handle or monitor equipment.
- Move or transport materials up to 15 pounds without assistance.
- Stand continuously at a computer or workstation.
- Tolerate a high level of physical activity and stamina typical of a production floor.
