Prestige Maintenance USA provides scalable janitorial and facilities maintenance services using environmentally sustainable solutions. We customize janitorial and facilities maintenance programs for clients in many industries, including distribution, fitness, grocery, retail, and transportation. The Custodian performs assigned custodial tasks at the job location: general cleaning (restrooms, offices, cafeteria, sales floor, other areas as assigned), buffing, scrubbing, and basic vacuum, sweeping, mopping. Use equipment such as scrubbers, extractors, and buffers.

• Performs all general required tasks as directed by Lead Custodian or Supervisor
• Uses floor machines for buffing, stripping, waxing, vacuuming and carpet cleaning safely, according to proper usage and schedule
• Performs all tasks within proper safety guidelines, company policies, and as directed by management
• Wears uniform at required worksites
• Follows company policies regarding safety, customer service, attire, and working conditions
• Completes assignments per company schedule and customer expectations
• Works nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays as necessary
• Follows oral and written instructions, works effectively individually and with team, attends periodic training and safety meetings
• Janitorial tasks include:
  • Empty wastebaskets, replace liners
  • Dust and clean office furniture, desks, tables
  • Vacuum all carpeting
  • Spot clean soiled areas
  • Sanitize toilets, basins, urinals
  • Clean counters, mirrors, fixtures
  • Sweep and damp mop floor with disinfectant
  • Clean walls, partitions, doors
  • Refill restroom dispensers
  • Clean vending machines and appliances
  • Clean sink and tile floors

Prefer a high school diploma or equivalent plus 1–2 years of experience in custodial, janitorial, or cleaning services.

• Basic knowledge of custodial duties and janitorial responsibilities
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment: vacuum, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, applying finishes to flooring materials
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and processes, compounds
• Experience cleaning and sanitizing washrooms
• Demonstrated safety practice, report unsafe conditions
• Follow directions within guidelines
• Read and understand product labels
• Satisfactory personal appearance and hygiene within company guidelines
• Maintain janitorial equipment safely and operable

• Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized, and safe manner per company guidelines and regulations

• Read and communicate in English
• Physical exertion: manually move, lift, carry, pull, push heavy objects up to 50 lbs
• Repetitive motion: bending, twisting, carrying, reaching
• Operate small power tools
• Stoep, kneel, crawl, bend, turn, reach into non‑air‑conditioned areas
• Stand and walk extended periods, including stairwells and ladders
• Work independently in stressful environments
• Regular, consistent attendance
• Optional local area travel (≈10% of time)
