- Manage the overall on-site operation of a customer account
- Ensure compliance requirements and contractual obligations are met
- Serve as the primary customer contact for new initiatives and high-level critical issues
- Maintain responsibility for overall P&L, budgets and forecasts
- Manage communication, interaction and relationships with company drivers
- Oversee tractor maintenance, compliance and service delivery
- Track operational performance, including on-time pickup and delivery, volume, equipment balance and empty miles
- Ensure driver recruiting and retention meet fleet size goals
- Identify performance and process improvement opportunities and coordinate solution implementation
- Investigate service failures, determine root causes and implement corrective actions
- Develop and modify operational policies and procedures
- Maintain a safe work environment and foster a positive team dynamic
- Resolve employee relations issues and administer corrective action as required
- Attain annual profit, efficiency and quality goals for client engagements
- Direct capital expenditure and asset deployment activities
- Work Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm on 1st shift
- 4 years of transportation experience
- In-depth knowledge of the supply chain/logistics industry
- Availability to travel occasionally
- Ability to lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Project management skills and experience (preferred)
- Proven leadership and collaboration skills with experience effectively supervising, mentoring and influencing employees (preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (preferred)
- Experience as a collaborative, innovative and strategic thinker (preferred)
- Solid customer relationship management skills (preferred)
- May be required to pass a pre-employment drug test after receiving a conditional offer
- Must comply with GXO COVID safety policies and applicable CDC, OSHA, state and local requirements
Demonstrates strong operational management capabilities with a focus on compliance, performance tracking, and customer relationship management in the transportation and logistics industry. Proven ability to lead teams, implement process improvements, and achieve financial goals while maintaining a safe and positive work environment.
