Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Manufacturing Production, Welder / MIG/MAG/TIG, General Labor
The position will be responsible tacking and solid welding of a water tight weld on Stainless Steel Cold Water Basin. The role may assume additional duties as assigned for the complete process of the welded basin which may include performing basin modification or sub assembly to support the assembly line. The successful incumbent will be detail oriented, able to follow instructions well, and work well in a team atmosphere.
Education/ Experience / Certifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required
- AWS D1.1 and AWS D1.2 welding qualified preferred, but not required
- Previous Stainless Steel Welding experience on 11 gauge through 18 gauge preferred, but not required
- Previous welding experience
- Pull parts
- Interpret build orders and engineering drawings correctly
- Reference engineering drawings to perform solid or tack welding
- Use welding equipment, tape measures, and hand tools safely and effectively
- Put on cart or fixture for next station
- Perform maintenance on torch when needed
- Identify parts using the build order
- Measure using a tape measurer for correct position for the component being installed on the cooling tower
- Pick correct template in coordination with the build order or engineering drawing
- Accurately perform any necessary cutting within the cooling tower by using the correct template and appropriate cutting tool (reference assembly manual for modification instructions)
- Grind edges using grinder
- Perform welding based upon tower and/or engineering specs
- Perform leak testing
- Use an overhead crane
- Ability to adapt to change and flex his/her work at appropriate times so as to support the assembly process
- Ability to correctly use measuring tools and grinder
- Ability to correctly use crane and air float
- Ability to correctly and safely use other hand tools (both manual and pneumatic)
- Ability to read a tape measure in metric and imperial standards
- Ability to apply shop mathematics to solve problems
- Ability to plan work and select proper tools
- Ability to compare and accurately determine difference in size, shape, and form of objects
- Ability to work within precise limits and/or standards of accuracy
- Ability to interpret build orders and engineering drawings correctly
- Ability to operate impact gun and torque wrench
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to follow and understand directions

Pay Rate: $31.00
Shifts1st
Shift: 5:30am - 2:00pm with daily and weekend OT as needed.
2nd Shift: 4:30pm - 1:00am with daily and weekend OT as needed.
