The Material Handler II is responsible for moving materials within a warehouse or storage facility using hand trucks, Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), and hand-held scanning devices. They should have knowledge of commonly-used inventory practices and rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform their job functions. This position may require a high school diploma and typically reports to a supervisor or manager while working under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.
It may also require 1-3 years of general work experience.
- Swiftly move materials between workstations and inventory using pallet jacks, carts and Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT)
- Accurately perform systematic inventory transactions using a computer or handheld device
- Maintain cleanliness in the work area and ensure equipment and machinery remain clean throughout the shift
- Execute any other assigned duties promptly and effectively
- Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) experience
- Adaptability to thrive in fast-paced, occasionally stressful environments
- Precise adherence to written and verbal directives
- Flexibility to adjust to production requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting at a workstation
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
