Job Summary

The Electromechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and facility equipment to support safe, efficient, and continuous beverage manufacturing operations.

This role combines advanced electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and controls expertise to diagnose and resolve complex equipment and automation system issues. Perform preventive maintenance, and support process improvements across high‑speed packaging, processing, and material handling systems. Serves as the primary escalation point for electrical and automation related issues beyond the Maintenance Technician level.

Job Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair processing equipment, including fillers, cappers, labelers, conveyors, palletizers, and packaging machinery.
  • Diagnoses and repair electrical systems (motors, VFDs, sensors, relays) and mechanical systems (gearboxes, pumps, bearings, belts, chains) including advanced fault isolation and signal tracing across control systems.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Perform advanced level PLC troubleshooting, including I/O diagnostics, fault analysis, and program‑level investigation.
  • Install, test, and commission new or modified equipment and components, including integration with existing control systems and validation of proper operation.
  • Support system integration, retrofits and process improvements. Transfer knowledge, provide guidance and train Mechanical Technicians on repairs and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Follow all safety, food safety, and quality standards (LOTO, GMPs, HACCP as applicable).
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams to improve reliability and performance including identifying and resolving systemic or recurring equipment and controls issues.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns during production, including shift, weekend, or on‑call support as required and lead resolution of complex or escalated failures.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical degree or certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Maintenance preferred.
  • 2–5 years of electro‑mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required (food or beverage preferred).
Required
  • Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics including advanced troubleshooting of control circuits and components.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams to diagnose complex equipment and automation issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot PLC‑controlled equipment, including interpreting logic, resolving faults, and restoring operation.
  • Experience with VFDs, motors, sensors, and control components, including fault diagnostics, and performance troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced production environment including taking ownership of complex troubleshooting situations.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.
Preferred
  • Experience with PLCs (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens and Beckhoff preferred) including signal handshakes, safety interlocks and industrial control components.
  • Previous experience with Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and working knowledge of CILs, Rapid Change‑overs and Equipment Centerlines.
