Brake Operator (A)

Position Summary

The position will be responsible for the setting up, forming, inspecting, labeling, and sorting of parts in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. The successful incumbent will be detail oriented, able to follow instructions well, and work well in a team atmosphere.

Shift: 2nd Shift: 2:45 pm - 11:15 pm with daily and weekend OT as needed.

Pay Rate: $31.00 per hour

Shift Differential: $2.00 per hour

• Interpret blueprints and engineering drawings correctly.
• Set up and operate machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Adjust machine settings to complete tasks according to specification, accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Perform part programming on machine.
• Form, inspect parts for accuracy, place correct labels on parts, and sort.
• Assist in troubleshooting on machine when needed.
• Safely and effectively use hand tools, computers, measuring tape, and machinery.

• Read blueprints.
• Plan work and select proper tools.
• Accurately determine difference in size, shape, and form of objects.
• Apply shop mathematics to solve problems.
• Set up machines.
• Use hand tools safely (manual and pneumatic).
• Read a tape measure in metric and imperial standards and use protractors.
• Read effectively from a paper copy.
• Work within precise limits and/or standards of accuracy.

• Communicate effectively.
• Follow and understand directions.

• High school diploma or GED (preferred but not required).
• Previous shake and/or brake experience (preferred).

• Lifting up to 100 pounds; 100+ pounds with assistance.
