Summer Intern – Manufacturing Industrial Engineer

• Analyze the efficiency of manufacturing operations and changes involving personnel, materials, machines, and facilities
• Recommend or confirm changes to layouts, labor control, and material control
• Maintain frequent contact with people outside the work group
• Assist in developing accurate methods and optimum operation layouts
• Create operation descriptions
• Perform calculations required to complete studies and change labor/material control routines or systems
• Make decisions with mentorship from supervisors
• Perform hands‑on work in a manufacturing plant environment

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering
• Must be graduating between August 2027 and June 2029
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week
• Must be willing to work in a plant environment

• Ability to repetitively bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach
• Ability to lift or carry materials up to 15 pounds and periodically up to 40 pounds
• Ability to occasionally sit, climb ladders and lifts, and drive vehicles and equipment
• Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future, including H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, and J-1 support

Demonstrates strong analytical skills in evaluating manufacturing operations and optimizing layouts, with a focus on effective communication and relationship management. Capable of performing hands‑on tasks in a plant environment while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.
