Salary Information:
Salary Range: $21.42/hr at Step 1 to $32.27/hr expected hiring range is $21.42/hr to $27.46/hr. dependent on qualifications and verifiable experience.
JobDuties Include:
The Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC) researches, writes, and manages grants to support County programs and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities include identifying local, state, federal, and private funding opportunities; developing competitive grant proposals and supporting documents; coordinating with departments to gather required data and materials; assisting departments with grant writing as requested; maintaining grant tracking and reporting systems; ensuring compliance with funding requirements; and helping develop strategies to increase external funding opportunities. The CEC also provides departments with guidance on data collection and tracking needed for successful grant applications.
The CEC coordinates and supports Saline County’s day-to-day communications, public outreach, and community engagement efforts. Duties include managing announcements, newsletters, public information materials, website updates, social media, and educational content promoting County services, programs, and initiatives. The position ensures messaging is clear, consistent, accessible, professional, and aligned with County branding and communication standards while supporting departments and elected officials with communication guidance, templates, and outreach strategies.
The CEC monitors communication effectiveness, tracks engagement metrics, recommends improvements, and maintains records of outreach and communication activities.
The CEC coordinates and leads the Saline County Social Media Committee by providing direction, training, and support to department representatives while helping maintain a consistent voice, tone, and posting strategy across County platforms. The position reviews content for accuracy and professionalism and works with departments to translate technical information into clear public-facing communication.
