Reports To: Executive Director
Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Location: Pathway to Hope Headquarters, Olathe, KS
Schedule: Primarily Monday-Friday daytime hours with occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as required.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Clubhouse Director serves as the operational leader of the Pathway to Hope Clubhouse and is responsible for advancing the mission, culture, and long-term success of the organization’s flagship program. This position provides leadership for all aspects of Clubhouse operations, ensuring fidelity to Clubhouse International standards while cultivating an environment where members are empowered to contribute, develop meaningful relationships, pursue personal goals, and participate fully in community life.
Working directly alongside members within the work-ordered day, the Clubhouse Director oversees daily operations, membership engagement, outreach and referral development, employment and educational initiatives, accreditation efforts, community partnerships, and strategic growth opportunities. As Pathway to Hope continues to expand its continuum of services, the Clubhouse Director plays a critical role in preserving and strengthening the Clubhouse model as the foundation of the organization’s mission and impact.
The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial, relationship-centered leader who believes in the power of community, meaningful work, and human connection to improve quality of life for individuals living with serious mental illness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clubhouse Leadership and Operations
- Lead the daily operations of the Pathway to Hope Clubhouse in accordance with Clubhouse International standards and accreditation expectations.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, strengths-based environment where members are valued as colleagues and active participants in Clubhouse operations.
- Facilitate and actively participate in the work-ordered day alongside members, promoting engagement, ownership, skill development, and meaningful contribution.
- Coordinate daily Clubhouse activities, communications, administrative functions, and operational priorities.
- Ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment that promotes dignity, belonging, participation, and personal growth.
- Develop and maintain operational systems, workflows, and practices that support effectiveness, sustainability, and future growth.
- Monitor participation, engagement, member satisfaction, and program outcomes to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Membership Engagement and Community Building
- Cultivate meaningful relationships with members and create opportunities for participation, leadership, and connection within the Clubhouse community.
- Encourage member involvement in planning, decision-making, governance activities, and daily Clubhouse operations.
- Partner with members to identify and pursue employment, educational, wellness, and community participation goals.
- Promote a culture of mutual respect, shared responsibility, and belonging consistent with the Clubhouse model.
- Support the development of programming and opportunities that strengthen confidence, independence, resilience, and community connectedness.
Outreach, Partnerships and Membership Growth
- Develop and implement outreach strategies that increase awareness of the Clubhouse and expand membership opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, therapists, community mental health centers, behavioral health providers, social service agencies, educational institutions, and community organizations.
- Conduct tours, presentations, networking activities, and community outreach efforts to increase visibility and referrals.
- Serve as an ambassador for Pathway to Hope and the Clubhouse model throughout Johnson County and the greater Kansas City region.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to increase membership engagement and community participation.
Employment and Educational Opportunities
- Coordinate Transitional Employment, Supported Employment, Independent Employment supports, educational opportunities, and workforce development initiatives in alignment with Clubhouse standards.
